Having completed advanced implant training through the International Congress of Oral Implantology, Dr. Tolbert has been recognized as a Fellow of the ICOI.
Originally hailing from Macon, Georgia, Dr. Tolbert graduated from the Dental College of Georgia, where he spent most of his time researching dental implants and dentures. He spent every vacation and school break attending advanced education courses and working alongside implant dentists to help him hit the ground running.
Dr. Tolbert spent several years working as a Clinical Director in a multi-regional full arch group, educating over 40 doctors in implantology as well as traveling the country to provide clinical support. Today, he has settled down in Washington with his wife and is the proud owner of Smile Now Tacoma.
When he’s not honing his skills and providing care for his patients, Dr. Tolbert enjoys the great outdoors, playing guitar, and “anything with an engine”.
Dr. Tolbert decided early on in his career that his passion was for restoring peoples’ smiles. “I do this because the average patient that walks through our doors is asking to have their life changed. It is challenging work, but it is by far the most rewarding.”

Dr. Buck earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry before completing a Master of Science and specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Prosthodontics and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, placing him among an elite group of dentists who have achieved the highest level of certification in their specialty.
As a board-certified prosthodontist, Dr. Buck brings advanced expertise in full-mouth rehabilitation, complex implant dentistry, and full-arch implant restorations. His specialized training allows him to design smiles that are not only beautiful, but also optimized for long-term function, comfort, speech, and durability. By collaborating closely with our surgical team, Dr. Buck helps ensure every patient receives a seamless, comprehensive treatment experience – from diagnosis and smile design to the delivery of a natural-looking, life-changing final restoration.
Before dedicating his career to advanced prosthodontics, Dr. Buck proudly served his country in the United States military. He served in the U.S. Army from 1999 to 2002, including deployment to Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division, before "crossing into the blue" and continuing his distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, ultimately retiring with the rank of Colonel. The discipline, precision, and commitment to excellence forged through decades of military service continue to define his approach to patient care.

Meet Milo “Smile-O” Tolbert, the four-legged heart of Smile Now Tacoma Dentures and Implants! Milo is a lovable cocker spaniel and mini poodle mix who belongs to Dr. Tyler J. Tolbert, DMD, FICOI, and his wife, Raina Tolbert. Known around the office for his wagging tail, joyful spirit, and toothy grin, Milo lives up to his nickname by spreading smiles wherever he goes.
As our honorary Chief Morale Officer, Milo brings comfort and cheer to the team and patients alike. Whether he's making surprise visits, showing off his tricks, or simply being adorable in the waiting room, Milo reminds us all that a great smile (and a little tail wag) goes a long way.
